Heart Safe Wollondilly
Wollondilly Business Chamber and Wollondilly Shire Council are proud to be partnering on this important initiative, alongside our dedicated local volunteers and participating businesses and organisations.
Working Together to Create a Heart Safe Community
Sudden cardiac arrest can happen anywhere, at any time — at work, at home, at a sporting event, in a local business or while out in our community.
When it happens, every second matters.
That’s why Wollondilly Business Chamber, in partnership with Wollondilly Shire Council, is proud to be working together on Heart Safe Wollondilly — a community-led initiative focused on improving access to Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), increasing awareness and helping more people across Wollondilly feel confident and prepared to respond in a cardiac emergency.
The initiative is supported by a passionate team of local volunteers from All Essentials, DJL Project Management, Hire a Hubby Property Maintenance and Rapid 1st Aid, who share our commitment to making Wollondilly a safer and better-prepared community.
What is Heart Safe Wollondilly?
Heart Safe Wollondilly is about bringing our business community, local organisations, residents and Council together to improve our community’s response to sudden cardiac arrest.
Our focus is on two important areas:
-
Increasing the number of AEDs across Wollondilly that are registered and accessible during an emergency.
-
Increasing the number of people within our community who are trained in CPR and AED use and registered as GoodSAM responders.
The more AEDs we know about — and the more trained people we have ready to respond — the stronger our community’s ability to act when every minute counts.
If your business, workplace or community organisation has an AED, we strongly encourage you to register it through the GoodSAM AED Registry
Know Where Your Local AEDs Are
Knowing where AEDs are located within our community can save valuable time during an emergency. Visit the following link to View the AEDs available in the Wollondilly community.
We encourage Wollondilly businesses and residents to familiarise themselves with AED locations around their workplace, home and the places they regularly visit.
It is also another reason why registering existing AEDs is so important — we can't direct people to equipment that we don't know is there.
Have an AED?
Register it with the GoodSAM AED Registry and make sure your location and accessibility information is current.
